-NCCC: National Civilian Community Corps -TL: Team leader -UL: Unit leader -Unit: A means of grouping corps members. The units of the Denver Campus are Earth, Fire, Water and Sun. The units are further divided into teams of 8-12 corps members and a team leader. I am a member of Earth 5. -CTI: Corps Training Institute. It's all of the training that we did in Denver during the month of February. -ISP: Independent Service Project; in order to graduate and receive the education award, all members are required to log 80 ISP hours, to be completed on our own time -Spike: A project that requires traveling and living away from campus or designated member housing. -ASB: Alternative Spring Break. Some universities offer students the option of traveling to a location to do volunteer work during their spring break. It often and most popularly takes the form of working with hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf. -"Cut a tank": To cut with a chainsaw until you run out of gas and you have to refuel -USFS: United States Forest Service -"Throw a chain": When the chain comes off the bar of the chainsaw; usually occurs when cutting brush
